Last week Auction House hosted four property auctions in the South West, the North West and the East Midlands.

On Wednesday 2nd October the bidding opened at the Engineer’s House in Bristol. There were 12 lots on offer of which 5 were sold in the room and 2 were sold after the auction. This represents a success rate of 59 per cent, raising a total of £1,132,500.

Among the highlights was a cottage in Saltford which, despite being in need of extensive repair and renovation, sold for £220,000. Another lot attracting interest comprised 6 freehold garages in Frampton Cotterell which exceeded the guide price and sold for £36,500.

The following day Auction House Cumbria held an auction at Carlisle Racecourse. Of the 36 lots offered, a total of 29 (81 per cent) were sold. This figure comprises 26 lots sold in the room, 1 sold prior to auction and 2 sold after the event. Together they raised £1,802,000.

On Friday 4th October Auction House Cumbria hosted another property auction at the Coronation Hall in Ulverston. At this event 10 out of the 12 lots on offer (84 per cent) were sold, raising a total of £536,150.

Among these was a cottage in Great Urswick which attracted bids well in excess of the guide price of £85,000, eventually selling for £111,000. Another interesting lot was a terraced house in Barrow in Furness which a lucky bidder snapped up for just £37,000.

Auction House also hosted an auction in Leicester last week but the results were unavailable at the time of writing.

The next property auction on Auction House’s calendar will be held at Banks’s Stadium, the home of Walsall Football Club, on Wednesday 9th October. Click here for further details.
