The report comes from commercial property specialists Vickery Holman, who say they now expect strong interest from potential occupiers in the Grade II listed 60 Haven Road on Exeter’s bustling Quayside.

The nineteenth-century building was originally used as a riverside warehouse and, towards the end of the twentieth century, as a Maritime Museum. Stakeholders Exeter Canal & Quay Trust are now keen to see EIC offer the building for a variety of uses and to identify tenants who will enhance the Quay  and help to safeguard the building’s future.

There has been significant investment in the district in recent years, particularly from the leisure sector, including the arrival of Clip & Climb, the largest climbing centre south of Bristol. Other new arrivals include the re-established Watersports Centre and the new restaurant offering from the Smoke & Ale House.

EIC has played a played an important role in this regeneration, having worked hard over the past 20 years to establish the Piazza Terricina which is now a popular and thriving leisure destination.

Exeter Agent Clare Cochrane stated: “it is fantastic that we have managed to agree terms with EIC, who appreciate the importance of this area to Exeter and are passionate about ensuring the new occupiers use is in keeping with the established character of the Quay.

“Their involvement gives occupiers a unique opportunity to rent commercial accommodation within a heritage waterside building and we are expecting a lot of interest from tenants and businesses with a diverse range of uses”.

The Haven Road property, which is next door to AS Watersports, extends to nearly 10,000 sq ft, although the floor plates are flexible and requirements may be catered for from approximately 5,000 sq ft to 10,000 sq ft.

EIC has appointed Vickery Holman and Stratton Creber Commercial to identify new tenants. Anyone interested in renting commercial space on the Quay should contact Clare at Vickery Holman on 01392 203010 ccochrane@vickeryholman.com or Damian at Stratton Creber Commercial on 01392 203202.
