A Bristol hotel, which was once the home of cricketing legend W.G Grace, has been sold by Colliers International.
Grade II listed Victoria Square Hotel dates back to the 1860s and was sold off an asking price of £1,750,000 by hospitality specialist Simon Wells.
“The Victoria Square Hotel consists of two buildings in a superb leafy location in the heart of Clifton just a mile or so from the city centre,” Wells said. “One look at the books will tell you this property offers serious investment potential.”
The sale is the pick of a number of deals recently brokered by Simon Wells as the region’s hotel sector continues to attract investment.
“The hospitality sector has been very busy for the past two years – but the sheer number of deals going through will guarantee a happy Christmas for the buyers who were lucky enough to snap up a property,” he explained.
“The sales are spread all over the West, but the common denominator is that all our buyers are experienced operators in the hospitality sector. They recognise that there are still opportunities out there – but you have to chase.”
W.G Grace played first-class cricket for 44 seasons between 1865 and 1908. Known primarily for his batting, Grace was also a formidable all-rounder and is considered one of the game’s greatest ever players.
