With over 20 years’ experience in the investment market — and advising on more than £1bn worth of transactions in the past decade — Paddy Brennan has been appointed national head of capital markets. Among his two biggest recent deals were the sale of Frenchgate Shopping Centre in Doncaster and Fosse Retail Park, near Leicester.

Brennan will now be supported by Donall McCann, who will heading up the capital market activities outside London as head of UK regional capital markets. Among the highlights of McCann’s career — who has also clocked up £1bn in transactions —  are the acquisition and disposal, within four months, of St James’ Shopping Centre in Edinburgh, totalling £350m.

“The capital markets team enjoyed an exceptional 2014, advising on over £25bn of distressed debt portfolios,” commented LSH chief executive, Ezra Nahome. “I have no doubt that 2015 will be another extraordinary year of innovation and growth for the capital markets team.”

In a separate appointment, LSH has named Simon Rhodes as the new head of its Yorkshire industrial and logistics team.

Transferring from Colliers — where he led the industrial agency team for the North-East and Yorkshire — Rhodes will be working with some of the commercial property consultancies major clients including Harworth Estates, Hermes Parcelnet, Legal & General, Scania and Wolseley.

During his career he was responsible for the disposal of the 850,000 sq ft Kimberly Clark plant at Barton-upon-Humber and advised Standard Life on the marketing of its 930,000s q ft warehouse in Doncaster, 415,000 sq ft of which was let to Amazon.

A Cheshire firm of chartered surveyors has promoted four long-standing members of staff to associate director.

Natalie Tansey joined Legat Owen in 2003 and advises clients on all aspects of property management. As a Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) registered valuer she also manages a varied portfolio of commercial property, including a number of shopping centres.

Mark Diaper has been with Chester-based firm for more than 12 years working within the business space department of its industrial agency team. His speciality is the acquisition and disposal of industrial premises and land.

Dan Oliver has more than 15 years’ experience of retail and leisure property and is currently retained by Costa and Heron Foods on acquisitions of new stores. Completing the quartet, Sarah McCune manages a portfolio of properties including retail, office and business technology parks for clients.

“All four have each made a significant contribution to the growth of the company in recent years and we are delighted to promote them to associate level,” commented Legat Owen director Stephen Wade.

Manchester-based HOW Planning has added to its retail team with the appointment of Alex Eatough as senior planner. She joins the specialist planning and environmental consultancy from Jones Lang LaSalle’s office in the city and will be working on projects for a range of retail and development clients including Aldi and Lateral Properties.
