Richard Serra will be based at the company’s Leeds office — which celebrates its first anniversary this month — as a director, taking the strength of Quod’s northern team to 12. Founded in 2010 Quod has its headquarters in central London.

“We  have  seen  a  substantial  growth  in  pre-development activity  in  the  north  of  England,” explained Quod director, Tim Waring, “and Richard  is  a  significant  addition  to  our  Leeds office. His appointment  reflects  the  success  and  ambition  of  our  rapidly  growing  presence  in  the north.

“Richard  is  a  highly  respected  planner in the region,  while  also  bringing  with  him  the  experience  of  dealing  with  major  projects  all  over  the  country,” added Waring.

After 10 years at Eversheds as a commercial law expert, Jennifer Hicks-Jones is joining Midland law firm mfg Solicitors as a specialist commercial property solicitor.

During her career she has been involved in a number of high profile cases, including advising a leading aviation firm on an airport transaction and supporting an established pub group as it disposed of a number of its premises for redevelopment.

Based in Shropshire and Worcestershire, Hicks-Jones will work across all mfg’s main offices in Telford, Bromsgrove, Kidderminster and Worcester, supporting clients with all types of issues including disposals, acquisitions, development and property-related transactions.

Yorkshire’s only industrial property specialist, Gent Visick, has made two senior promotions.

Gidon Amar, who joined the firm in September, 2010, after graduating from Nottingham Trent University, has been promoted to director, and Kathryn Hodgson, who joined from Friends Provident in 2011, has been promoted to associate director.

“Gidon and Kathryn are pivotal to the development of our business going forwards and they have consistently exceeded both our and our client’s expectations,” commented managing director, Rupert Visick.

Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) member Matthew Williamson has been appointed an associate at Northumberland-based Land Factor.

Joining from a national chain of land agents, 31-year-old Williamson will principally be involved with overseeing commercial and agricultural and activities at privately owned estates at Blagdon and Belsay. He is also a fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers.

Jersey law firm, Parslows, has appointed Kelly Williamson as director of operations. She has been practice manager at the company since 2012 and her new role will involve the planning and organisation of Parslows’ growth strategy, including marketing and commercial property business development.

Nationwide chartered surveyors and consultancy Sanderson Weatherall has expanded its property agency team.

The firm, which has nine offices across the country, has recruited Dominic Towler as a graduate surveyor. He joins from Brackenridge Hanson Tate, where he worked for just over a year.
