Gloucester commercial property expert Bruton Knowles has secured new premises for Angell Pets closer to the city centre in Southgate Street.  Julian Capewell brokered the deal which sees the family run pet supplies specialist move from its Abbeymead base to a two-storey premises not far from the Gloucester Quays retail outlet.  Located on the corner of  Southgate Street and Llanthony Road, the two-storey  was previously a TV and Hi Fi shop.

Julian said: “The new tenants were looking to expand their existing business in a prominent retail location and I knew they would love the extra space available at Southgate Street.

The 1,189 sq ft property is less than a mile from the central cross  and has the benefit of air conditioning. Boss Richard Angell said Julian’s intervention couldn’t have been better timed.

“We needed a new base to operate fairly urgently and the Southgate Street premises ticked all the boxes in terms of location and space. The extra floor allows us to store much more stock and will allow us to expand our popular Reptile Boarding service.

Richard had to deal with the logistical nightmare of moving guinea pigs, rabbits and other small pets along with fish, reptiles and even tarantula spiders but was happy to report the move went without incident.

“This is a far more prominent location closer to all the activity around the quays. And doubling our floorspace enables us to widen the aisles so people can get around easier.”
