Duncan Wisbey, who joined the firm in 2006 as a senior surveyor specialising in rent reviews, lease renewals and valuations, progresses from associate to the position of associate partner.

Hannah Skingley — who recently assumed the role of managing agent for The Crown Estate in the eastern region — has moved up from associate to associate partner. She has worked for several years in the firm’s rural division on a range of estate and land management projects for private clients.

And head of eastern region planning, Richard Seamark has been promoted to partner. He joined Carter Jonas five years ago and has a wide range of planning experience across the consultancy’s residential, commercial and rural divisions.

Mark Granger is chief executive at Carter Jonas. “Over the past 12 months, the firm has increased its staff numbers by 15 per cent, in line with our ambitious national growth strategy,” he explained. “We recognise the hard work and commitment of all our teams and I am extremely pleased to be acknowledging the endeavours of several more individuals this year through these promotions.”

Just weeks after CBRE claimed this year’s first quarter was one of its best ever with “robust revenue and earnings growth” reported from all its UK offices, the property firm has promoted four of its Yorkshire-based senior managers.

“The Leeds office has enjoyed a great start to the year with several new people joining the team in response to client demand for our varied service lines,” said Leeds office managing director Richard Sunderland, before confirming that Jonathan Shires has been promoted to senior director with Steve Taylor, Nick Marsden and Lloyd Nicholson upgraded to associate director.

“The outlook for the property sector within the Yorkshire region continues to be boosted by the increasing take-up levels and returning confidence amongst occupiers,” added Sunderland, “and these recent promotions demonstrate our commitment to progressing our valued team members through the business.”

Six year after joining Williamsons Solicitors, Gemma Foster has moved from its Hull office to take up a new post with the firm’s commercial property department in Driffield. Initially training in family law, she then moved on to residential conveyancing and will now specialises in commercial acquisitions and leases.

The Wilkes Partnership, which has law offices in Birmingham and Solihull, has announced the promotion of its head of real estate, Tim Coplestone, to partner.

The new role comes after Coplestone, who has been with the firm for over five years, played a major part in reorganising and overseeing the success of Wilkes’ real estate department. He has particular expertise in mixed-use and commercial development, including town centre redevelopment, and secured lending for banks and financial institutions and individuals.
