May’s auctions produced some very impressive results throughout the country. These include success rates of 87% and 86% for West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire respectively. Both Berkshire and Manchester sold 77% per cent of the lots on offer, while Hull & East Yorks delivered 75% and Scotland recorded a 70% success rate.

Recent additions to Auction House’s national network bring the total of auction rooms throughout the UK to 38. Among these is Staffordshire which will hold its first auction in June.

Speaking to the Sentinel about the launch, auctioneer Chris Edwards said that regional auctions are taking a growing share of the market and that selling at auction can lead to getting a better price. It is also a rapid method of selling and buying property.

“Auction House combines local knowledge with the strength of a national brand, striving to put motivated sellers and buyers together,” he explained.

“We have an 80% success rate, and the process achieves an exchange of contracts on the night and completion normally takes place within 28 days – which is about 10 weeks quicker than through an estate agent.”

The latest auctioneer to join the growing ranks is Dafydd Hardy Auctions which will cover North Wales including the Isle of Anglesey. Auction House anticipates being able to announce the 39th and 40th regional auction rooms shortly.

Auction House has also reported strong website activity with a total of 198,000 sessions recorded over the course of the month. It has also been a good month on Social Media where their numbers are growing steadily.

Of particular note is that the Facebook app is now up and running. This allows users to browse lots directly from the Auction House Facebook page and represents another step forward in the company’s Social Media plan.
