Coventry based automotive industry manufacturer, HPL Prototypes, is set to open up a new site near Crewe.

Sports car blueprints. Non branded concept car.

The scheme will see a design and engineering centre being developed, which is expected to create around 70 skilled jobs.

Terms have been agreed with Cheshire East Council for the 5.5 acre site at Redsands, subject to planning permission.

HPL develop prototypes for vehicles, both drivable and non-drivable, bringing manufactures’ designs to life into a full sized 3D form.

Michael Jones, the council leader, is pleased with the deal: “We are delighted that HPLP has identified Cheshire East as the right location to expand,” he said.

“HPLP’s arrival would create a platform to attract further investment from the automotive supply chain”.

The company is very keen to work with local educational providers on a training programme, which, it hopes, will create opportunities for future engineers.

The site is located next to the junction of the A534 and A51.
