The firm recently completed the demolition of Christie’s Auctioneers Storage Facilities which will now be replaced with two new 19 storey buildings including both residential and commercial space.

The commercial element will deliver a total of 2,475 square metres and bring exciting retail and lifestyle opportunities to the new district, while the residential element will provide 510 new homes.

Managing Director of Bellway Homes’ Thames Gateway Division, Ian Gorst, said: “We are delighted that work has now started.

“The Residence is an exciting new project for Bellway, and we are thrilled to be involved in the extensive regeneration of the Battersea and Nine Elms area.

“We’re looking forward to continuing to work closely with the community as this develops”.

The development was designed by Maccreanor Lavington Architects along with GRID Inside Designers. When fully completed the development will help energy efficiency, have improved insulation and large windows to increase solar gain.

The Residence is expected to be completed in 2017.
