Highest Commercial Property In The Old Continent

A main reason people refuse to move to London is the weather. However, the ideal solution comes in the form of new mixed residential and commercial property, the Shard skyscraper, which includes apartments and offices that are situated right above the clouds. Because of this, rain will no longer be a problem on one in four days a year for residents of the highest building in Western Europe.

Of course, one obvious disadvantage is the fact that the most spectacular views are often obscured by the predominant clouds. Even so, investing in such a property is something to consider for more and more people, with the highest property being situated at 735 feet above earth, right next to the famous London Bridge. According to the Pennsylvanian company AccuWeather Inc, on approximately 83 days a year, the cloud layer will be situated below this altitude.

London based architect Stephan Reinke explained that the experience of looking out the window and seeing the cloud bank below you is irreplaceable. Reinke was also part of the designer team for the famous Nakheel Tower in Dubai.

The Shard was awarded the title of the tallest UK building in December 2010, after the 69th floor was successfully constructed by the team hired by the founders, Qatar Central Bank and Sellar Property Group Ltd. The second highest building in the UK, is the One Canada Square tower in Canary Wharf.

The Shard will also double up as a commercial property, featuring hotels, offices and restaurants, providing customers with an unforgettable experience when deciding to use the services offered.  Moreover, according to WSP Group Plc, provider of engineering services for the tallest UK building, during 97 percent of the year, the views offered by the apartments are exceptionally good, with residents being able to admire the English Capital on a ray of approximately 44 miles.

The Shard will also be used by officials attending the 2012 Olympic Games, which will take place in London. By that time, 12 apartments, offering a magnificent view will be available.  However, prices are still unknown, since there is no current offer for sale.
