Séraphine has agreed terms for a 755 sq ft unit, located next to lingerie retailer Bravissimo, on the County Arcade of  the Frank Matcham designed  Grade II listed building. Matcham was best known for his theatre designs which include the Hackney Empire, the London Coliseum and the London Palladium.

Known as a favourite of The Duchess of Cambridge, Séraphine has been providing stylish pre and post-natal wear since 2002. Sales have doubled over the last two years thanks to the ‘Kate Effect’ and the patronage of other celebrities including Gwen Stefani and Jessica Alba.

Hammerson’s Assistant Director of Retail Asset Management, Kate Orwin, said: “As the North’s most luxurious shopping destination, Victoria Quarter is undoubtedly the right place for Séraphine to open its début store in Leeds.

“Sitting alongside a line-up of international luxury retail brands, Séraphine is a welcome addition to the premium shopping offer and will be well placed to capture shoppers looking for luxury maternity wear to make a statement during and after pregnancies.”

Cecile Reinaud, the founder of Séraphine, commented: “We are delighted to be opening in the Victoria Quarter in Leeds and we’re looking forward to joining other luxury brands and welcoming mums-to-be, new mums and their families alike to experience our maternity and nursing wear.”

Hammerson acquired the Victoria Quarter in 2012 and has successfully built on the 160,000 sq ft shopping centre’s reputation as a leading luxury retail destination.

It is anchored by Harvey Nichols and home to 67 occupiers including Louis Vuitton, Michael Kors, Reiss and Vivienne Westwood.  Séraphine is expected to join them at the Victoria Quarter shortly.
