Society of British and International Design Opens Ukraine Representative Office

The Society of British and International Design (SBID), has announced that its representative office in Ukraine, Kyiv, has now been officially opened, with the launch taking place on October 21 2015 at the British Ambassador’s Residence and hosted by Her Britannic Majesty’s Ambassador Judith Gough.

SBID is the professional accrediting organisation for the UK interior design industry and represents architects, specifiers, interior designers, manufacturers, developers and construction professionals from around the world. The main aim is to support their interest by guiding and measuring the industry’s professional conduct through practice, competence and continued development. They are part of a global network of 50,000 designers.

The representative office was designed for the main purpose to promote SBID’s professional standards and support fair competition in within the Ukranian market, facilitating the networking of local design specialists with manufacturers in Ukraine and abroad.

Her Britannic Majesty’s Ambassador, Judith Gough, said on the opening: “Creative economy plays a very important role in tvehut12he UK economy as a whole. This sector brings more than £71 billion a year to the British economy and provides jobs for 1.6 million people.

“Our task is to develop cooperation with a prosperous an successful in its work, Ukraine. I hope that SBID will make a huge contribution to the partnership between our countries.”

SBID Ukraine will facilitate the recognition of professional Ukrainian design professionals through accreditation and create the appropriate medium to appeal to investors in the field of construction, production and interior design.

The representative office was possible thanks to SBID Regional Directors, Nataliya Bolshakova, interior designer and Member of SBID, and Yuliya Danilova, the Director of Domio Home Interiors.
