Description
A single storey former Post Office building which is of traditional stone construction with ashlar facing and reveals to the front elevation under a pitched roof clad in slate with parapet wall to front elevation.
The building is of symmetrical design accessed via double doors to the northern end of the unit. A further set of double doors are incorporated to the southern end which provides a service access via a covered pend continuing through to the sorting office at the rear. There are three sets of double windows to the front elevation. The windows comprise slim line vertical casement units with eight panes to the lower section and four panes to the upper section divided with stone transom.
There is an extension to the rear which is presumed to be of cavity construction. This part of the building appears to have a flat roof, which was not visible within the scope of our inspections.

Jedburgh is a historic market town with a population of approximately 4,000. The town is steeped in history with a great many attractions including a 12th Century Augustinian Abbey, Jedburgh Castle Jail and Museum and Mary Queen of Scots House. The Abbey was founded by David I in 1138 and destroyed on the orders of Henry VIII. It remains the most complete surviving Abbey in the Borders despite having been burned nine times.

Jedburgh is a gateway town to the South of Scotland, approximately ten miles to the north of the Border with England and benefits from good road links to the principal Borders town and the national road network via the A68 Trunk Road.
