New Letting Activity at Methuen Park in Chippenham

Business parks are becoming increasingly desirable for firms expanding into highly sought after areas, with the generally good road links and reasonable levels of rent making the out of town destinations a good alternative to city centre accommodation.

New Letting Activity at Methuen Park in Chippenham

This has been proven this week by a large scale letting at Methuen Park in Chippenham, where Colliers International has successfully closed negotiations with IT support and services firm MDS Technologies.

The firm will occupy a modern suite within the No. 2 Methuen Park office building, which in total measures 4,521 square feet, on a five year lease. Along with the significant amount of space afforded to the firm, employees will also be able to take advantage of the cafe, gym, showers and conference facilities contained within the building, and will be entitled to a parking ratio of one space per each 200 square feet leased.

Karen Young of MDS Technologies believes that the move to the new office will help the firm provide a more fluid service for customers.

She says; “As part of our continuing growth we are excited about our imminent move to new premises.

“We will retain technical resources on-site at our data centres to support our hosted customers while the remainder of the team will support existing business and be poised for new opportunities from 2 Methuen Park.”

Methuen Park is conveniently located on the outskirts of historic market town Chippenham in Wiltshire, having good access both into the town centre and to the M4 by way of nearby Junction 17. The park offers modern office space in a scenic setting, and has proven immensely popular with businesses keen to expand into the area.

In fact, sole letting agent for No. 2 Methuen Park Colliers International has revealed that only two office suites remain available following the lease agreement with MDS Technologies. At present, the agent is quoting rents of £14.50 per square foot per annum for both suites – an indicator of how high the demand for space within the site is expected to reach.

The remaining suites consist of 2,882 square feet in the Ground Floor South West portion of the building, and 2,960 square feet in Ground Floor North West. Interested parties are advised to contact Colliers International as soon as possible in order to avoid disappointment.

Director James Preece of Colliers International’s Bristol office believes that the high standard of space available will ensure full occupancy at No. 2 Methuen Park will be achieved in the very near future.

He says; “This is a very well-specified office building which is just 10 to 15 minutes’ drive away from the M4, and which is also conveniently located for the A4 and the A350.

“The benefits of good access and a generous parking ratio, plus excellent on-site facilities, and a staffed reception, has made this a very attractive choice for businesses looking to provide their staff with high-quality accommodation.”

Do you think expanding companies are gradually turning to business parks to meet their needs, given the ongoing shortage of space and high rents in many popular town and city centres?
