If you enjoyed watching a variety of different sports during the Olympics and cheering on Team GB in your office or at home you may be feeling a little down now. But to counteract the come down, why not bring a little piece of the Olympic action to your office to remind you of the past incredible two weeks.
Remainsofthegames.co.uk has been set up by Ramler Furniture, who were responsible for sourcing furniture and products that made up the interior of the Olympic Village. The website offers members of the public and businesses the opportunity to buy products that the Olympic athletes have been using for the past two weeks ranging from chairs, lamps, tables, notice boards, bean bags, and trolleys to umbrellas and safes.
As part of Ramler’s contract, the company were required to buy back the products from Locog before they could begin selling them to the public. The company said it cannot confirm if a particular athlete has sat on the chair you are buying, but they will state in some cases if a high profile athlete used certain products.
Speaking of the Remains of the Games website, Paul Levin Marketing Executive for the company, said: “We are delighted to be co-ordinating what is undoubtedly the biggest and most unique furniture and equipment sale in the world.
“It has been a mammoth operation to source, purchase, assemble and deliver everything and it will be an equally mammoth task to collect them all at the end of the Games and find new homes for them.”
So if you are feeling down about the Olympics ending and are waiting in anticipation for the Paralympics to start, why not get your own piece of the action at work. You could kit your desk out with a lamp that could have been in Tom Daley’s bedroom, a notice board that could have been used by Mo Farah or an office chair sat on by Jessica Ennis – How about that for a piece of history?

But yes I agree having some of the furniture from the Olympics would look good around the office, but surely the fad will pass once the Games are officially over and people get back to their normal lives!
