Is the chair you sit on for most of your day in the office really that comfortable? Does it give you support where is most needed or do you find yourself slowing slouching down the back of chair as the day goes on? Well there is a solution, which could make you happier at your desk, but your boss may not be happy about the price tag.

The LimbIC chair, which was created by MIT, a top University in America doesn’t look like it can improve your posture and make you sit more comfortably as it doesn’t look like a normal office chair. It has no back, no arm rests and is made from products used in Formula One cars. But for £5,400 it must do something right?

The chair which combines neuroscience with ergonomics is designed to make the person sitting on it feel like they are weightless. It moves as you move allowing you to feel more comfortable which will result in you being happier at your desk – thus making you more productive.

Speaking of the design, Dr Kunzler, one of the creators of the LimbLC, said: “The effortless, upright position relieves the intervertebral disks in the spine by avoiding pressure points.

“It increases the sense of touch and movement and trains your sense of balance. It is having a very positive affect. It gives you the sort of feeling you’d have if you jumped up and down.”

Do you think you could convince your boss to purchase one of these chairs if you said it would make you more productive at work? Or do you think that £5,400 is just too much for the price of your happiness?
