Auction House Results: Week Commencing Monday 28th October 2013

Last week Auction House hosted several property auctions at venues ranging from Norwich to the North East. And, judging by the results available at the time of writing, it was another successful week for the firm which now boasts a national 79 per cent success rate in the year to date.

The bidding began at the everyman Cinema in Belsize Park on Wednesday 30th October. Here 38 lots were offered, of which 35 were sold, raising a total of £5,505,750. Six of the lots were sold prior to auction and a further 28 were sold in the room, representing an excellent 93 per cent sold.

On the same day, the Blue Mountain Golf Club in Berkshire was the venue for an auction where 12 lots were on offer. Nine of these (75 per cent) were sold raising £1,900,000.

In the North East there were two auctions held on Wednesday. The first of these took place at Newcastle Racecourse where 11 of the 18 lots on offer were sold. This 62 per cent success rate comprises 9 lots which were sold in the room and an investment opportunity that was sold prior to auction. Together they raised a total of £706,500.

Later at the Hardwick Hall Hotel, Stockton-on-Tees, 84 per cent of the 12 lots on offer were sold raising £463,500.

On Friday 1st November the bidding moved to East Anglia where 26 lots were on offer at the Dunston Hall Hotel, Norwich. Three of these were sold prior to auction, after which the gavel came down on 17 lots in the room. Together this equates to a success rate of 85 per cent, raising a total of £2,613,250.
