Bidding began at York Auction Centre, where Auction House Stephenson & Son sold 67% of the lots offered raising £660,000.

One of the lots sold was a 16.9 acre plot of agricultural land in North Yorkshire with a guide price of £120,000 to £130,000. When the hammer came down, the lot easily outstripped this, selling for a healthy £152,000.

At the Hilton Northampton, Auction House Northamptonshire raised over £800,000 by selling 8 out of the 11 lots offered. These  included two lots sold prior to auction and one which was sold after the event for an undisclosed amount.

One of the highlights of the auction was a freehold former public house with development potential in Kettering which sold for £290,000.

On the same day Auction House Cheshire and North East Wales sold 84% of the 12 lots offered at Chester Racecourse, raising £1,251,000.

The properties sold included a detached five room house together with six acres of land in Llangollen, which sold for £165,000.

At Beverley Racecourse, Auction House Hull & East Yorkshire raised a total of £290,000 from the sale of four lots.

These included a freehold semi-detached bungalow in North Humberside and a leasehold ground floor flat in North Yorkshire, which sold for £91,000 and £49,000 respectively.

Meanwhile at Thornbury Castle, Auction House Gloucestershire sold 75% of the lots offered raising over £360,000.

These properties included a two floor bungalow in Bristol, which sold for £175,000, and a two room apartment in Swindon which went for £69,000

Finally, at the home of Walsall Football Club, Auction House Birmingham & The Black Country rounded off the week with the sale of 93% of the 14 lots offered raising £1,604,000.

The auction included a freehold former care home with 14 bedrooms which sold for £365,000 and an unmodernised four-room end-of-terrace house in Walsall which sold for £80,000.

Triple award winning Auction House is the UK’s number one residential auctioneer and a top five commercial auctioneer.

Last year Auction House had an 80% success rate and has over 180 auctions scheduled for 2014.
