The event was attended by the rising stars of the commercial property industry and the highlight of the evening was an interview with Irvine Sellar, the man behind the iconic Shard development.
Irvine has a career spanning almost 50 years, and is a well-respected expert in the industry. During his interview, he spoke with passion about his driving ambition and the vision that has delivered London’s premier mixed use site, a landmark that has changed the City’s skyline forever. Recounting stories of the highs and lows of his career, he set the tone for how we should all perhaps face our lives.
“When you hit disaster, don’t look back in sorrow, move forward – what’s the alternative?” Questioned about some of the good fortune in his career, he tellingly said, “luck is where preparation meets opportunity.”
