LondonMetric — the FTSE 250 listed property company — has hired a former member of Tesco’s estates team to boost its own distribution portfolio.
Sam Pringle, who for seven years helped manage the retail giant’s property strategy and convenience food store expansion, is joining the two-year-old LondonMetric Property as an asset manager.
The company has 10 property investments, reportedly worth around £1bn, all located in the UK, including a 100 per cent stake in One Fleet Place in London. Pringle’s appointment will build on LondonMetric’s distribution assets, which represent more than 44 per cent of its entire portfolio. Among its retail and logistical tenants are Argos, Dixons Carphone, Marks & Spencer, Primark, Superdrug and WH Smith.
“Sam brings a wealth of experience to LondonMetric and we are pleased to have him onboard,” commented Mark Stirling, the company’s asset management director. “His understanding of the UK e-commerce distribution market and retailer fulfilment will be invaluable to us as we manage and develop our distribution portfolio.
“Understanding occupier needs is core to our strategy and Sam brings not only a deep understanding of e-commerce, but also a broad knowledge of retail formats, such as convenience and omni-channel retail,” Stirling added.
Paul Gibbon is returning to the commercial property team at Sheffield’s Wake Smith law firm after six years at hlw Keeble Hawson.
With 14 years’ experience acting for investors, developers and lenders, Gibbon is also a specialist in advising business occupiers — including those in the manufacturing sector — on the acquisition, disposal and management of commercial property.
Also joining the commercial team at Wake Smith is Lisa Davison. During her 10 years working within the real estate market she has acted for institutional funds, property developers and public bodies across a range of sectors including healthcare, retail and education.
Commercial property adviser Bilfinger GVA has announced three promotions within its commercial teams working from the firm’s Bristol office.
Gordon Isgrove is now a senior director in the company’s land and development team. Alex Petyan has been promoted to associate within its landlord and tenant team. And Rebecca Collins, in the planning development and regeneration team, has been upgraded to an associate level.
Solicitor Deborah Barton has joined the commercial property team at the York-based legal firm of Guest Walker & Co. She will be working on a broad range of commercial property matters.
