Last year the property consultants disposed of in excess of 1.3 million sq ft of commercial space, which included the largest office letting in East Durham in over a decade.

In addition to this achievement, the Building Consultancy team was involved in £2 million worth of construction schemes, while the Management Department increased the number of properties in its portfolio to eighty.

This year Naylors is planning to expand a number of service lines and creating three new job opportunities within the firm – a Landlord and Tenant Valuation Surveyor, a Graduate Surveyor and a Facilities Manager. They have also recently engaged the serves of an Insurance Broker to provide clients with building insurance.

Naylor’s was established in 1990 when founder Bill Naylor opened the firm’s first office in Washington with three staff. Since then the business has expanded to become the largest independent firm of commercial property consultants in the region, employing 25 staff at offices in Newcastle and Middlesbrough.

Today Naylors markets and manages a huge range of properties throughout the North East and further afield. The firm is also one of the most active agents in the Team Valley where it maintained a successful office between 1993 and 2008.

Bill Naylor believes that professionalism, client service and integrity have been key factors in the firm’s longevity and success.

“Whilst several national and international commercial property firms have entered the North East market over the course of the past 25 years, there has been significant consolidation and a number of firms have since left the region or downsized,” he said.

“During this time Naylors has remained ever-present and is one of the few firms to have grown in size over the last ten years and now encompasses strong Building Consultancy, Asset Management and Property Investment teams as well as the more publicly known Commercial Estate Agency and Valuation services.

“We are proud to be at the forefront of the North East commercial property market and consider ourselves the leading locally owned and managed firm of chartered surveyors in the region.”

Managing Director, Angus White, added: ”Being a niche, independent practice gives us the flexibility to provide a personal and friendly but professional service.

“We are very grateful to our supportive clients and loyal, hard-working staff, without whom we would not have a business.

“Our ambitions for the future are to grow and develop the company further, taking on further larger-scale instructions and adding to our service lines, whilst taking on a number of new staff.

“We are very much looking forward to the next 25 years.”
